The Big One 2009 Info thread
Last year we had a "cool parts" table. It went over so well we thought we would do it again.
So dig out those cool and unusual parts, brochures, memorabilia, etc... that you don't have bolted on a kart and you can display them so everyone can see and enjoy them.
We also thought we would reserve a display table for the "Sacrifices to the Gods of Speed". That table will be for all those parts that gave their lives for the racers never ending quest to go faster. I'm sure you all have piston that have a story, a engine with the cylinder that is removable around the port area, engines that were cut in half on the track. Not for display purposes.
Please bring clean parts only. Don't be dragging a bunch of greasy stuff in the hotel.

See post at the top for "New Motel Info for THE BIG ONE 2009 !". Get your reservation in. They only hold rooms until Aug 15th. So far things are on course but there are always those last minute people that end up at a different motel.
Re: The Big One 2009 Info thread
Don't forget to go over your kart for safety wire & cotter keys. These old karts are not replaceable and don't want to see things coming off or getting broken. As a general rule all wheels, steering and brakes need attention.
There is a tech article on drilling bolts and they sell a hardened block for drilling bolts also.

The Big One Fuel
Dan Lotz has once again been nice enough to bring alky fuel. You can email him at lotz11x@wcoil.com to place your order. IF YOU ORDER PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PAY Dan FOR YOUR FUEL.
In the past people have ordered and not picked up their fuel, or ordered 10 gallons and only picked up 5 gallons. If this is abused we may loose our fuel source.

Dig out all those left over parts & bring them to The Big One. HUGE swap meet with lots of parts make everyone happy. People looking for a part to finish there kart and you make some money to buy more parts. It's a win win!
Remember to go over your karts for safety. All steering and brakes need safety wired or cotter keyed. Lets be safe & have fun.
Also no new 820's allowed. Please see rules and guidelines for what is allowed.

Well, all the ancillary goodies are loaded. Will load karts when the landlord comes home from work. Will leave at 6:00 tomorrow, I will meet Charlie in Illinois Thursday, and we'll see all you good folks Friday! Ted J.
