The Big One Update
We realize I these tough economic times it will take a commitment to travel and attend this year. Last year seems like a lifetime ago in terms of thing our country has been put thru. Come out and have a great weekend of karting and fellowship and put that nonsense aside for a few days.
Motel reservations are shaping up nicely for another large turnout. If you need a room check out the post New Motel Info for THE BIG ONE 2009 ! . Please note the motel has changed hands and is now a Clarion Inn. Same location, same room rate as last year, the remodeling is complete and the large storage containers are gone.
As always we will be at the track Friday for trailer setup but remember there will be NO RUNNING OF KARTS OR ENGINES. We usually see guys start rolling in after noon and we usually close up shop and head out for a nice dinner Friday night around 6:30 -7 PM.
Remember skinny hard tires only. Square shouldered tires are the norm. Cheng Shin, Kenda, old original tires and there are a few others that work fine and keep you safe. The Duro Vintage Speed tires are not allowed. Nor are the new modern 820 engines.
Please, Please, Please go over your karts for cotter keys and safety wire. I was at an event where a roll pin came out of a master cylinder and brakes were lost and a bad ankle injury was the result. There will also be a safety update on Dart Chaparrals. I was at an event and the upper steering hoop came out of the lower steering support and we have an easy fix for it so you don’t end up on your head like the other guy. You guys don’t bounce back or heal like you used to.
As always there is a free swap meet. Bring your extra parts and lay them out on a tarp or the grass and help a fellow karter get his pride and joy on the track.
Saturday night we are having dinner at the motel and there will be karts on display……and a few new things if they all work out.
