First one is a Simplex of some sort
Second one is a real early Putt-Nik

6-8 yrs ago I would have said YES get them quick!!! After 10 yrs of this I say RUN they are not worth much when done and you will trip over them for the next 5 yrs, then give them away to get them out of your Garage (-: The thing to remermber in Vintage Karting is keep your focas on what it is you really want and stay away from those great deals that need parts.

Simplex wheels are hard to come by. Parts are worth it. Put Nik.....not so much but who knows. Maybe you can take them to a meet near you and have them presold.

Good thoughts,

I probably should buy to keep this contact active.
he's a semi professional junk guy that roams various places up north.
swap meets barn sales tag sales etc. etc.
i know as fact he sold a complete early margay or as he put it an old orange go kart for " 350 bucks!!!" as he put it.
the kart had upholstery and engine a complete runner.
he was amazed that he got so much money for an old kart.
the guy who bought it chased him into the swap meet and bagged it before he unloaded.
so buying these probably will pay off at a later date.
aso i have room to store them where they won't be a problem.
as far as restoring them i'll just keep them warm and dry and wait for someone to want them or not.
i would only need to recover the gas and purchase price to be happy anyway.
i seem to be getting alot of oddballs in my pile which is kinda neat in a historical sense.
thanx for the help
Dave

Stand them on end and you can get a lot of karts in a small area. Don't burn contacts....you never know what they will find. The extra $100-$150 now will pay off down the road.

Rob,
that's what i figure.
anyway my oldest shop (was for car work) is under a shopping center and it measures about 30x60.
the ceilings are 12" tall so i can stash alot of karts down there if i like.
i don't really pay rent just trade services.
as it's about 30 miles from where i live now i hardly use it.
also the BOSS!!! has no idea where it is!
kinda sorta slipped my mind.
will let you know how my offer goes
dave
