Carby kits for the BDC 14

Post by mcbob » Sat Mar 21, 2009 8:06 pm

Here's an interesting thought since the main diaphrams for the BDC 14 are proving hard to find has anyone priced out the cost factor of getting new ones made in China or is there not enough demand to make it worthwhile ?

I have had a few emails asking of a source of diaphrams but where are they to be found.

i've considered talking to a place that makes harley gaskets (james brothers)
but that's back burnered as i have a bunch of projects rolling already.
also i recall someone did have some made up at one time but they were pretty expensive.
anyway i'd like to hear from those that had them made up what was involved.

Anyone try LAD in Chicago? They make kits for Yam's & Tilly's. I would think they would make a special run.

HI,

my name is david luciani, i live in (sorry my addy is private on open forums) and my interest is in vintage karts.
a thread in one of our forums has just started and your name was suggested as a possible source for a short run of gaskets for vintage mcculloch carburators.
i don't know if you have the capacity to reproduce them but if so there is particular interest in the bdc14 diaphrams as they are getting hard to come by.
please let me know if you have any interest in this project or know of anyone with the capacity to create these gaskets and diaphrams.
there aren't alot of us but i'm fairly sure we can come up with an order of at least 100 pieces if that helps.
thanx
David A. Luciani

David the guy from or who is Tired Iron i recall told me when i was making enquires that the diaphrams he was having made he had the cutting pattern for but he didn't have the roller press which held the cutting pattern tool as the roller press was owned by some-one else so when i bought my last lot to suit the BDC 16 and 23 they were the last lot he had made.

Hopefully your enquiry will prove me wrong ..............
