Bakerfield Vinage Kart Shootout & Exhibition -Updates & chan

:D Contrary to some rumors, the bakersfield event is alive and well! All financial arrangements and contracts have been signed - so the event is definitely a go. The response from most of the vintage karters I have talked to have been very supportive, so it looks like the event will be as big and successful as it was last year.
With the great success of the Seniors Class at the Adams event, it looks like we will add this class to the Bakersfield agenda. A "Seniors Class" will be for those who are over 60 years of age, single engine only. This class will give the seniors a chance to slow down a little, yet are to experienced for Sportsman, and give them a class of their own. This event has been well received and is growing in popularity.
The track owner continues to improve the Bakersfield Kart Raceway. The infield has been planted with grass and the starter shack and communications have been improved. New grandstands have been added and there are permanent pic-nic tables in the snack shack area. Landscaping continues and a sun awning will be added in the snack area to provide shade for for snacks in the pit area. A new check in shack has been added and will be in use as you pull into the track.
We are still looking for raffle donations. Karts items, tools, tires, etc. are some of the items you can donate. All those who donate to the raffle will receive a discount on the event registration fees at the gate. If you would like to donate a raffle prize, have questions or just need advice, contact Mike Hartman at: Email: scjumbo2@aol.com phone: 949-632-3230
