New to me vintage kart
Hi, I've looked on this site a few times but never joined or posted because I was still looking for a vintage kart. I'm happy to report that I have purchased my first vintage kart. My friend tells me it's a fox kart. It has a Mc 101 with a Gem mount. The seat is in very good shape for it's age. The clutch is an unknown brand. There is one repair that I can see in the frame just behind the right side of the seat. The brake pedal was broken off at one time and repaired with a flat strap with holes in it. 5" rear wheels and 4" fronts. The mechanical disc brake caliper has H H molded in the aluminum on the outside and the rotor is not in very good shape. A couple questions: Does anybody make parts for these brakes especially the pads? What brand are the brakes? How about brake and gas pedals? Last but not least, approximately what year is this kart? I hope the picture links work as it's my first post. Russell:
Ron is correct on the model and approx. year of the Fox kart. It does quailify for vintage events. A great find as these are a rare model of Fox karts.
The crack in the frame behind the seat hoop is a common problem with the model, too much frame flex. I have one with the same crack location. Email me: es4fire@cox.net . I will send pictures of my frame.
