I am working on my Kart for the 2009 TBO. It will have a Clinton A-400 with the Palmini P6 High Torque Exhaust Header. The trouble is: the three clutches I have for it, a Max Torque, Comet & Mercury all have too large a clutch drum to fit under the header without scraping the header. There's absolutely no room for a chain guard. Is there a smaller diamater clutch drum setup to use? I believe it's a 7/8's shaft. Also, what type of chain guards did these Clinton's run back then?

Whoops..... I think I meant 5/8's shaft.

I think the early Comet clutches were 3" and they will clear.

Comet's still in business I think it's Richmond Indiana. have you looked there?

I was planning to call them tomorrow to see if they might be able to help me out. They are good guys and occasionally have some old parts lying around. Thanks. But if anyone else has a clutch that they would be willing to part with,please let me know @ markcer@ameritech.net

I called Comet Kart sales and No Luck. Hopefully someone will have a small diameter 5/8's shart clutch to fit a Clinton. I'll Pay $$$$ or trade... I have some good stuff ! Thanks in advance.

Mark, not Comet Kart Sales, you want Hofco who make the Comet clutches, they list a 3 1/2 inch dia clutch for karts, 5/8 inch shaft.
