Actually, years ago, IBM competed directly with Xerox. IBM made almost all the same products as Xerox, copiers and such... IBM manufactured a lot of mechanical machines (typewriters, copiers, impact printers, ...), but not much of any of that anymore. Xerox too, probably bought those needle bearings in bulk from a contracted manufacturer.
