The worst part of the old mod, using the Mc10 PTO bearing, was that you not only had to bore the block, you also had to grind the crank bearing journal to accept the ball bearing. You needed a machinist who knew his stuff and who had the right grinding tool. I ran among lots of guys who had Mc6's and ran them hard with no reliability issues from the full compliment bearing. I raced one myself during the '61 season, before switching to "supers". I think the "Racing Karts" or "Karting Sport" article (whichever it was) talked lots of guys into doing a senseless mod! :oops: TJ
