Kevin
I wanted that kart.DAMN. Had to go to a party with the bride and got home too late to bid again...
Good luck it really looks clean. I believe Robert Stanton " RobRon" would be the current expert as he makes repros.

Kevin,

It's a 1968 or newer A-bone. Nice shape, looks straight and wheels look good. Should be an easy restoration. If you are going to run dual engines look for a 7 quart Rupp tank, duals are hungry, especially if you run alky. You will want to run metalic lining if you keep the Bendix brake, better yet, go with a dual hydraulic disc brake system.

You will need to weld on a bracket for the second swing mount and add a third axle bearing all available from Robert. Mc 101s or WB 820s figure $1000 each...

The Sno Runner version is 8 horse, and the kart 820 is 13 or so horse, from what I was told. I know the intake and carb is different. Can anyone tell me what else is different? Ports? Head? I am pretty sure the piston is the same.

Alan,

The Sno-Runner has a thicker head gasket and the carburetor is on the bottom of the engine vs the side. It uses the HL232 carb and it works great on gas with about any small 2-cycle engine. They also had lighting coils and other stuff you will not want. You will be able to use the block, crank, head and a few other pieces. The crankshaft may not be stepped but you can find a clutch to work. If you buy the engine you will be able to find parts for the ignition and other pieces you may need.

Let me know if you need anything. teal@charter.net

Have fun,

Dick Teal
