Avon Classes

Post by Scott Kneisel » Sun Jul 25, 2010 4:56 pm

Hi all,
I just received 2 notes asking if there will be a class for 1977-84 sidewinders.
The answer is NO the cut off is 1975 as stated in the posted documentation on the 3 sites. We will make an exception in the single sidewinder class for karts up to 1977 but that is the cut off.
Also, no C-open karts will be allowed as agreed by the club board.

Also just a reminder that we have a tire rule..... Vintage type tires only, no modern kart tires. Sidewinders must also use tires of the type that were used on the kart back in the day.

Examples allowed:
Original vintage tires in good condition (Carlisles, Firestone micros, Goodyear blue streak, Eliminators, etc)
Cheng Chen
Duro Vintage Speed
Carlisle Super Slicks
Kenda
Others if they are of the early design and durometer.

We are gonna hold the line on this stuff too as we believe it is the safest option and we want this to be a safe event.

Looking forward to seeing some of you, the weather in Avon for Friday and Saturday is supposed to be outstanding, 80 and sunny both days.
Scott

P.S. For those of you coming in on Thursday night, we will be at the track Thursday so stop by if you want to and check it out. The track won't be open for running but you can come and take a look and shoot the bull for awhile if you want to.
