Alky plug

What is a good SHORT REACH alky plug for an open 101? I have several new NGK B8S plugs here, how do they sound? This 101 has an early round short reach head instead of the original long reach square head. Thanks! Ted

411 is the new number but don't last long.

Thanks, Rob, but aren't the 411/AE901/B6HS longer reach (1/2") plugs? I think I remember running 411/AE901's in my long reach 101 heads. I know the B8HS plugs I have for the Benders are about 1/2" reach. I need 3/8" reach. I will put in the B8S for break-in. Later! TJ

I run AE901's in both 91 & 101's. Bought 2 boxes on ebay a few years ago.
Got them for $15 bx. The guy asked what they fit. I told him and he said that's why he could find no info.

Best of my knowledge it was a drag racing plug for small block Chevy's on fuel.

For what we do on short tracks with our vintage stuff I think they are a little cold.
Probably great for laydown WOT stuff.

I ran the 411 plugs last year in my 820's; they're 1/2 inch reach and they lasted all year in the three carb single. I wish I had a sourch for AE 901's because they are the side fire style and you can run a lot of advance and high compression with them. I suppose it doesn't make that much difference today with the way we run but it would make me feel better.

You are looking for the Autolite 292 plug. 3/8" reach cold plug.

Thanks, Bill and Dick. I will use the NGK B8S for starters, as I have quite a few. It's 3/8" reach and a cold plug, so it should do at least for the first hour or two. Thanks and Happy Easter to everyone! Ted
