Mac Sprocket Adapter
While reading through an old kart magazine,I came across an ad for a Mac flywheel side sprocket adapter. Is anyone familiar with this and may have a picture or could explain it? Thanks

Re: Mac Sprocket Adapter
I've seen a picture but I don't have one handy. It's just a pedestal with a sprocket on the end to allow someone to run off the flywheel side instead of the traditional PTO side. I'm guessing it was in order to run duals on the early enclosed axle karts since Macs didn't come in both rotations. I'm assuming that the pedestal was threaded in order to take the place of the flywheel bolt. Certainly one of those things that wasn't in wide use and was obsolete pretty quickly.

It also had a plate that bolted to the flywheel puller holes that locked it in to keep it from backing off.

Dean, I believe there is a picture of the flywheel adapter on page 74 of your 1962 Steens catalog. Maybe you could post it.
