Whiteland Weekend

Post by REAR » Sun Jun 07, 2015 6:23 pm

Got over to Whiteland Indiana for the Hoosier Historics brought to us by John Stults this past weekend and enjoyed a very nice event. Weather co-operated all weekend long and everyone was treated to a great track along with a super size helping of hospitality from John and the whole Whiteland Raceway park crew.

Original plans were to run Jack Cannadays super rare Clark powered Go-Kart 800 but in the second practice session I blew it up. Once back to the pits and upon further inspection Jack and Al Klusman determined that there was a internal structural problem not driver error so I was off the hook but man I'll tell you I was really down in the dumps there for a minute.

Without a ride since Jack's Clark Kart was crippled for the weekend it was time to sit around and enjoy everyones company, eat some Max-Torque lunch [Thanks Jim] and shoot the shit. This plan didn't last long however because event promotor John Stults came over and says he's got a Fox kart with a Homelite KL92 looking for a driver. You'll never guess who jumped at this opportunity, yep yours truly.

To my surprise that little KL 92 ran pretty darn good and she stayed together all weekend long and I brought her home in second place behind Kevin Rice in the Historical 'A' class ahead of a couple of PP-58's and even a MC 20. Not bad for a bum-a-ride but it got even better, I won a first place in the kart show with John's kart.

Overall, great weekend and I'd like to Thank John Stults, Whiteland Raceway, Jack Cannady and also Mike Anderson for the Friday night lodging.

Ooops....Almost forgot, everyone was also treated to a great full course meal on Friday night and the weekends entry fees were free. you can't beat that.

Heres a few pictures from the weekend.
