hi- should the closed end of the wrist pin face the exhaust port in a stock AH 58? Please clue me in, as these kinds of details are not always in the manuals.
Thanks, Bill

Re: wrist pin- which way?
Bill, The Tecumseh Mechanics Manual calls for the open end of the wrist pin to be on the exhaust side.

Re: wrist pin- which way?
thanks, Louie! The only clue in my manual is an exploded view of a Super showing what seems to be the closed end of pin towards flywheel side { Tecumseh split crankcase models}. I wasn't sure if this alone was enough info.
Shown on the last page, by the way, is a listing of speed items you could order for the AH 58-61 and 82, right from Tecumseh! Single exhaust port cylinder and pinned ring piston for 81-82. Twelve reed intake for 81-82.Thin ring pistons and drilled rod {all} There's even a dual intake with progressive carb linkage.
Tecumseh really did do their homework back in the day.
