Hi,
I used to race here in the 60's, now the track is gone but I always wanted to see the layout because I couldn't remember it exactly. Now I found an Ariel picture and I remember.
This is another copy of the Azusa GoKart track, almost exact, it is also exactly like Avon except Avon has a monza on one of the corners.
I went flying thru the air off the end of the straight in front of the pits when I was trying to hard to get past a guy and I went up a hay bale. The kart turned over in mid air and came down on top of me. My Mom was watching from the pit area and almost wet herself but I was fine, just a bit shook up. My 63 Grand Prix needed some work after that one though. Oh to be 16 again.
Here is the pic............

Hey Scott,
I raced there just once IKF race i think, hotter then the devil something like 100 degrees, by the end of the day our lawn chairs had sunk into the black top. Going down the long straight on my first hot laps bees went up the sleeves of my jacket and stung the hell out of me, i was driving with one hand and swating my coat with the other, funny now but not then. Yeah, 16 again, what fun and no fear.

Hi Scott and Robert,
Remains of the track can be seen on Bing, Google and Historicaerials maps at the intersection of RT12 (Great Lakes Seaway Trail) and Three mile Creek road (County RD 5). It is located in the northwest corner of the interection beyond the grove of trees. The orientation of the long straight is east/west. You will have to rotate the map image (I think only in Bing) to make it appear in the same direction of the period aerial photo.

Re: Clayton Raceway, Clayton, NY
Thanks Marc,
I have driven by there but for some reason I thought the track was on the other side of the road where the little airport is. I can see the track now where you have pointed out but still can't figure out the orientation by the portion of track that is left. What is that area now? Some kind of town barn? Have you been up there?
Thanks again Marc, I think the mystery is finally solved.

Re: Clayton Raceway, Clayton, NY
Hi Scott,
I have never been there. I used your photo to figure out the relationship of the track, with the two roads that appear to converge in the backround. Then went searching.
The map image is 90 degrees different from your photo. The esses at the bottom of your photo are most visible in the current maps to the left of the building. Your photo was taken from the west looking east. If you use google maps with street view (the little man icon, drag it to the street at the property and rotate it to look in) you can see the building, equpment and dirt piles as if you are standing on the street looking into the property.
There is another Azusa copy in Hartford CT. It has overgrown into a forest in Keney park.
