Making reeds
Take me to school. How do you do it, how do you secure them, what do you do for overtravel keepers?
Re: Making reeds
Laser / Waterjet. Tape material to a piece of 1/4" wood & they come out fine. Leave a tab on the bottom edge so you don't have to dig for them.

Re: Making reeds
If you mail me an example or a FULLY dimensioned hand sketch, I can produce a Pro/Engineer CAD file for a decent cost, from which I translate a .DXF file. Any laser or waterjet shop can use the .DXF to cut all the reeds you want. You can get all the reed stock you want from:

G10 reed material
Their prices are good on the composite material. If I do a CAD model, I email you the .DXF file for no additional cost beyond my time spent. If you want the actual Pro/Engineer Wildfire 4 CAD files, including the .PRT (CAD model), .DRW (CAD drawing) and .DXF, as well as a printable PDF of the Pro/E drawing all on a CD, it's an extra flat fee. I make all my reeds this way, and you can also do any flat metal, plastic or gasket this way. Ted Johnson

Guys:
Maybe just being old school, but I just scribe with a hobby knife and break apart. Then use a small hole punch for screw holes.
