Preditor ran on our T Bucket for a few years but was never right. I liked the variable venturi effect & thougth it was a good idea.... it just didn't work...... LOL
hhhmmmm ..T -bucket 1900lbs.with 500hp small block chevy ,no front brakes, bias 50 series tires on back with drum brakes .. ..i drove it once about a half mile and that was it .man it seemed like i was flyin then when i figured i should stop i new i was ..wouldna been so bad if it had skided straight when both rear wheels locked up ..!! after i finally got it stopped ..i didnt have to turn around so i headed back to the guys house with it ..bought the 66 chevelle that sat next to it ..insted..
See Rob,That's what you needed the nitrous for,it gave back the bottom end that the design of the Prediator lacked! Ha! The look of that carb just blew most people away! Those poor tech inspectors didn't know what to make of it. There were only 3 "rules" for our outlaw late models: "open" tire compound-No "wings" & 406ci limit. Well we were claiming it was a 402" (factory 396-.030 over) but was a 427. (still got the motor sittin in my shop yet) If you look at the pic of it in my photo album it looks "nasty" as the roof was as high as your belt!! We ran it at Nazareth Speedway,a 1/2 mile dirt oval (closed in '88) Sure went down the straights good! Carl
hey guys .when i was racin Cam 2 was the hot fuel for that period ..wonder if they still sell it ..now most everything is Vp ..?? thats all they sell around here anyways..just wondering what are some of the good fuels out there..Gas not meth ..!!!
Steve,VP has the most choices. When I ran gas I used MR8. It was a good 2 cycle fuel as it was good for higher compression motors plus was oxygenated. Carl
I always liked Cam 2 purple but they were bought out by Sunoco so I think it's still available. VP ran great but was to high octaine for a Yamaha but ran great in the controlled classes.
Steve,
Go to www.vpracingfuels.com and click on the "master fuel list" . Here you can compare the different fuels & the recomended use.
It's a science & like Rob said you really don't want to use a fuel with a higher octaine rating then you need.
Cam2 (purple) is the same as VP110.
They have some interesting formulas that would work well on a 2 stroke kart without having to make major changes to the carb, like their U4.2 This is a pour-in replacement for street gas.
Like I said I did my homework and decided on MR8. (107 octaine/leaded & oxygenated) if you want it for a lower compression ratio use MR9 (87 octaine/leaded & oxygenated)
Have fun on this website! Carl
thanks guys..no tech where we race ..!! and belive it or not its very very tight racin i only won 4 fetures at the one track and 2 or 3 at the other ..i dont think outa 115 average karts there was anybody that won twice in a row ..no tech hardley any rules and theres never no problems .heck im not sure but i dont think they even have a black flag ..i run meth in all my modern stuff but the kids run gas in the ol box stock stroker big bore clone motor ..heheheh..
