Jeff your open trailer reminds me of an old argument. After everyone went Hollywood and got an enclosed trailer karts stopped sticking out the trunks of cars or a small open trailer's where they generated lots of interest when at a gas station or going down the road. like all thing just another reas...

Good seal on rings also keeps the heat in the piston crown (where it's cooled by the incoming mixture on top and from the underside) and not down the side of the piston heating and expanding the piston and burning off all the oil.

What WAS it is a better question. I stoppd to look at a kart in a yard one day.......I looked at it for a long time before I realized it was a Fox like mine......just so cut up I didn't recognise it.

It also had a plate that bolted to the flywheel puller holes that locked it in to keep it from backing off.

You can also take a light cut off of it so you have a good surface. Also had luck with the copper spray and it comes off easy.

I'd leave it on. It's a base mount for a mac. Original, simple, different, paid for. Clean it up some to make it look nicer and you'll have something diffrent that everyone else.
