Re: Sad News
That is a real shame.
His family is listing some of his stuff on eBay, so if there is anything you see that you may need some day,
now would be a good time to open your wallet.

Re: Could someone properly I.D. this side engine Kart?
Thanks Ron for setting me strait.
OK, so if I ever find an old fan cooled Yamaha that was pictured in an early '60s kart mag, it would be OK to run in on a rear engine kart, as long as I documented it ?

Re: Could someone properly I.D. this side engine Kart?
not rear legal but a nice vintage sidewinder. I have been wondering about this hang-up on sidewinders, since when I first raced at Broadhead in '69, I had run against sidewinders. I remember my first race at that track, where I planted my front wheel right into the carb of a Komet powered sidewinde...

Copy of the original Azuza kart track hiding in West Texas
I was informed by a long time local karter, David Moffit, that the track out in west Texas near Midland & Oddessa is an exact copy of the original Azuza kart track. Not only that, but it has been recently repaved, and Nothing has been changed on it. What a cool place to have a Vintage Kart race........

Tripp axle clutch.
If you have any of these laying in a corner somewhere, let me know.
I have 2 cores, but a lot of the little pieces are either missing, or rusted beyond saving.

Re: Anybody have plans for building a kart engine DYNO?
I have built several hydralulic dynos that are very accurate. But the hydralic components to do it right are not cheap. And because that most hydraulic pumps can not take high rpm, they need a reduction from crank speed. The unique thing about going hydralic, is that with the correct valving, you ca...

Re: Megafire module vs points
Were you actually measuring the timing changes or just recording better or worse lap times? Terry I was actually taking timing light readings off the engine while it was on a dyno when I mapped them. The Atom 'white' was the worst, it actually went into severe retard past about 8,000. I believe it ...
