Colverator O ring

OK I've got a couple of Colverator carbs and I am looking for a replacement o ring for the internal adapter. For those unfamiliar with the Colverator, it is a Mukuni carb with the bulleye removed. In its place is a machined insert with small holes drilled around the perimeter which is supposed to ai...

Re: restore or leave it alone

It will run in the only class at REAR, rear engine pre '72. It would run in rear single 6.1 and under at another event. My opinion would be to stabilize the condition and leave it alone. A kart is only original once, restored is forever. Dart karts are a dime a dozen, un-restored period modified are...

Re: OK, What Is It?

Hi John-
You'll find that vintage karting is a VERY small community and we all try to look out for each other. Bad eggs quickly weed themselves out...I've gotten scammed once or twice off of E-Bay, but never from anyone active in vintage karting.

Re: rathmanm on ebay $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yes, "Preduction" aka Theo VonHolstein is one of the more interesting characters circling the fringes of vintage karting. A couple years back be was trying to sell one of Ron Cubel's restorations for 25k. I believe it was a Hellcat, Theo had bought the kart (and it was a really sweet restoration)fro...

Re: Mac kart

Beautiful kart, too bad the seat color isn't correct for the yellow frame. I believe the metallic blue/white upholstery was correct for the metallic blue '62 300 kart, but not the yellow '61 R-1. Still, a VERY nice restoration. Don't think there was any difference between the R-1 and 300 other than ...

Re: kart id?

Hey Scott- It looks like it has a brass badge on the Nassau panel which probably means it is a Grand Prix. It's got the pre uni-mount swing mount ('62-'63?) $200 would be a fair price provided it wasn't too beat up. You may be able to knock a little more off if you let him keep that snow blower moto...

Re: A New Record?

Oh, so that's what the Copperhead intake looks like....Hadn't seen one up close and personal. In that light asking $600 for the intake when you can get the whole motor for a $1000 seems a bit excessive  I was thinking it was a hand built one off that someone carved out of billet, in which cas...

Re: A New Record?

Hey Vinnie- Ever seen this ad. Theo placed back in the 70's? Burt Reynolds mutton chops and snake skin print speedo? :o Damn, I am scarred for life. HolsteinAd.jpg The $639 seems pretty high, but figure $100-150 for the carb. The manifold appears to be hand built by a machinist, figure labor, materi...

Boone Kart

Anyone know who ended up with the Boone kart that was listed on E-Bay a couple weeks back?
The seller pulled the listing at the last minute...

Thanks,
Dan
