Re: The Big One 2009 Info thread
Well, all the ancillary goodies are loaded. Will load karts when the landlord comes home from work. Will leave at 6:00 tomorrow, I will meet Charlie in Illinois Thursday, and we'll see all you good folks Friday! Ted J.

Re: GoKart 1200
Hi, Terry. It all looks original. The 1200 had the Azusa wheels and pedals, and the bellcrank on the throttle per the pictures. You can still get the pedals from any shop that carries Azusa. Ted

Re: MC5 - sidecover and nameplate orientation....
I've seen several very early 5's with the 1-60 style flywheel cover. I'm sure Mac was just like Bug and GoKart; use whatever was overstocked if it'd fit. I'll bet Jeff's will run lots better than mine did. I took it out to the old 1/10 mile Q.M. track in Melbourne, FL on dad's new Wasp, and one of m...

Hey, Jeff. The Mc5 on Bill Jefferies' GK 800 looks exactly like the one I had in '60. Mine did not have the boss later used to cutout for the plug cover. See you at Fremont. Ted

Re: Mc20 Dual Intake
Rick, Bowser made one, but you had to drill a big hole in the block for that one. Reed also made a dual. TJ

Re: MC2 - the most powerful bushing engine ever built !!!
Hi, Jeff. I'm not sure the rod was anything other than an Mc-7 rod with a full floating bushing. Anyhow, it was a pleasure watching that feller whom we considered an "old man" dominate both the 580 needle bearing and the bushing classes. Wyatt Enterprises was a major force in Florida karting then. D...

Dan, that thing's beautiful. I love Studies, but wonder why the GoKart poster with a Dart? Will we see you at Fremont? I sure hope so! TJ

Re: MC2 - the most powerful bushing engine ever built !!!
Jeff: So why did you delete the conrod bushing? Charlie Craibe worked at Wyatt Enterprises kart shop in Cocoa, FL. The owner of Wyatt's, Howard Wyatt, had a fully modified Mac 2 on his Fox. It was as fast as many Mc-7's and AH-58's, and ran reliably all season. Howard had owned the bushing class at ...

Re: bearing inner race removal
Hi, George. I'm sorry you won't be at Fremont, but I'm glad you and C.W. met at Brodhead! I got lucky with the bearing race. I took it out of the freezer after overnight in the cold, and headed it pretty hot. Got it to turn on the shaft, but it wouldn't budge endwise. I finally got mad and clamped t...
