Re: Books On Small Engine Repair, Rebuilding & Performance Mods?

John, As a kid I received as a gift "All About Small Gas Engines" by Jud Purvis, 1963. Awesome book. It touches on all kinds of small engines of that period, including the West Bend 580 I recall. Amazon shows 10 used copies available, ASIN: B0012FY1UC. Hard-cover, 304 pages. If you go to http://www....

Re: TBO

Just want to say that my son (Alex) and I had a great time, and thanks so much to the gentlemen who organize this event each year! We met so many nice folks, and the weather was just picture perfect too. Can't say enough about it. Thanks!

Re: kart i.d. please

Dave, your points are well taken. Dan's post said "dead axle" so that's why I was thinking fun kart. Did Blitz ever make a live tubed axle?? Is it possible that your kart is a pre-63 Blitz in the front, spliced with another kart in the rear?? I've seen that sort of stuff before. Anyway, enjoy!

Re: kart i.d. please

Both karts in the photos are Blitz fun karts. The red kart has the pre-'63 style steering design (steering arms come off of the top of the spindles, vs. the bottoms starting in '63). All pre-'63 Blitz karts had the front "bearing" for the steering shaft perched up high, to work with these high-mount...
