Fox Kart Information

I'm in need of some Fox information to fill out a display that I've put together. The display was shown at Brodhead this past weekend and it appeared that most were interested in what I have because hundreds of pictures were taken. The display currently includes early factory pictures, parts lists, ...

Re: Was it common back in the day for.....

Rob, I should have addressed the last response to you instead of Virg; sorry about that. I leave for Brodhead tomorrow for my first Vintage event; I hope I'm not disappointed. Hopefully I'll be discussing things like condensors and other back in the day things all week end long. I may have talked Fr...

Re: Was it common back in the day for.....

Virg,

I don't think common would discribe the problem because it didn't happen too often. I do remember it happening on a high RPM engine I had. I just changed it instead of trying to fix it.

Re: The Copperhead 820

Mc Bob, I have a pair of the Vintage 820's that Dave put together for me. The Copperhead and the Vintage are similar but the Copperhead has a different head and bigger shroud over the head. The head on the Vintage is like the old Hortsman heavy duty head. The blocks are the same. Literature is avail...

Re: need info on identification of fox and bug karts

Rob's answer is correct on the Fox and the model year is most likely a 1964 or later model. It has been modified by welding on a motor mount at the right rear and the front axle has been cut off on each end and a straight axle welded under the front. The four bushings that are welded to the bottom o...

Re: Frame Annealing

Nils,

Why the linseed oil for the inside of the tubing?

Should it be just in the area of the welds?

Re: Frame Annealing

Nils, The welder that I'm planning to weld the FOX karts that I have uses a soft wire that is numbered ER 70S-6. Do you think that this will be OK? I'm replacing the front axle on two of the FOX karts I have. I know that we never did anything special after the frames were welded. That's a long time ...

Upholsterer in the Mid-West

I'm in need of an upholsterer that can recover my FOX satellite seat. I'm located in Horicon, WI near Madison and Milwaukee. I would like the name of someone that has already done a great job for you or someone else. The seat is light enough to ship anywhere in the southern 48 states. Price is also ...
