Re: Carb question
There are a number of aftermarket dual Tillotson HL manifolds running around out there. GEM made more than one to use dual Homelite or Go Power reeds. The best choice for performance is probably the GEM V-12 which usee proprietary reeds. The V-12 may be used with 2 HL carbs, or with the proper top p...

Re: Need help identifying a couple of engines.
Hi, Harry! Clutch is Noram, first engine looks like a quite old Homelite chainsaw (I could be wrong) second engine is a Continental (Deco), used on all early quarter midgets. Parts should still be findable for the Connie, harder to get for the Homelite (if that's what it is). Ted

Wow, Jeff! The chrome 3-spoke wheel on the third pic set brings back memories! Dad's Wasp had one of those options. Bug's jig was crooked, as none of the spokes was truly radial! On your chassis, the pedal bushings are definitely not factory. Good find! Ted

Re: Future of Kart Collecting?
Jerry, the rules as set by the "Kart Police" aren't really very hard to follow, nor are they all that costly. Ron C. and Mike H. set the Bakersfield rules up early, and posted them clearly on Geocities for ALL to see, giving the guys plenty of time to prepare. It doesn't seem hard to get an extra se...

Re: Future of Kart Collecting?
Aside from being good ambassadors for the sport and spreading the "word" among our compadres, what can we do? If we tell our friends and associates how much fun and fellowship we have, and encourage them to spend a Sunday afternoon at an event, and show them photos of the smiling people, we've done ...

Re: OK, I bought it, but what is it?
Ron's right. It is (or was) a '60 Wasp. Both Dad and I had them. It still has the welded in throttle shaft bushings for dual engines. Main rails look to be bent at seat front-maybe you can talk Ron into making you new rails like he did for his.... Good karts, but prone to frame breakage. TJ

Re: Firestone tires, check out photos
Hey, Jeff, they looked so neat back then that Dad bought a set....didn't take long for him to remove them from his Wasp! They had absolutely no grip at all. I can't remember what he did with them, but they never went back on one of our rigs. I remember seeing them on an Xterminator in our neck of th...

Jeff, I'd like to apologise for my harsh words to you. It may be that you didn't realize that this is a rear engine site only. Please forgive a grouchy old fart! Ted

Re: 1970 Stinger Progress
Sorry, MAN, Rob's right - and who is he to tell you what to post on the REAR ENGINE American Racer's site? He's one of the two site's administrators, that's who! This site is for rear engine karts with fan cooled engines and hard, skinny tires only. Take it to the VKA. TJ
