Re: Their coming for your kart next....
I have a better idea: strap the entire lib. party to Ernie Fisher's Hovey/Konig, wire the throttle wide open and aim it at a concrete wall.... Let 'er rip! RIP! TJ

Re: What is the chronology of the GK- Flexo 1200-1600 models?
Dean, the 1300 was 1963, and the 1600S followed either later that year or the next year. There was actually a 2100S with the rear part of the frame hinged, but there is not much info on that. I didn't like the 1600 as much as I did my old GK 1200. I think the split rear bumper was a mistake. A coupl...

Re: Chaparral frame
Those front axle stiffeners DO inhibit frame flex some. Not too important on a Dart, but I once put them on my Go Kart 800 after bending the front axle a little. Darn kart slid like a Bug or a Dart! Almost ruined it. I gave it to my Pop and got a new 1200... Ted

Re: Not kart but 2-Stroke cool
Now, that is nifty! I imagine noise restrictions where he lives forced him to muff it so the sound is too quiet! There is nothing new under the sun, An outboard marina owner called Sharkey who had his shop in Melbourne, Florida, had a five cylinder four cycle Riley outboard when I was in junior high...

Re: West Bend 580 / 700 color
Rob, Mac yellow was pretty consistent. The West Bend 610/820 color was also pretty consistent, though it was an awful color. I imagine Mac bought enough of the world's toughest paint that they got mostly a single color. Mac yellow DID change a bit over the years. We're still looking for a powder to ...

Re: West Bend 580 / 700 color
The two 700 five ports I just did for Charlie Craibe were done in a powder color called Trim Silver. Prismatic Powders makes it. Q3112Q INTERPON TRIM SILVER is their color name. It isn't perfect West Bend silver. I think maybe it's a tiny bit "bright", but the engines looked good. We didn't clear co...

Re: Vintage BURTO Racing Engine
True Dat, Rob! It looks like Pruit and I will never get the H Beam "Prurillo" Mc101 rod made. I think that would have helped the bib Macs a lot. Drawings are done, and we know Bonbright has the steel at his place. Ted

Re: Vintage BURTO Racing Engine
The trouble with the Ital. engines is that you can't replace the rod needles at home, since the crank is pressed together. There are dozens of small variations even among just Komet 100cc engines. Of course, you must have the Motoplat coil, and do not forget to ground the coil mount back to the engi...
