Re: looking for way to adapt HR carb to west bend 820

There were a few cast manifolds for WB / HR setup's but they are very hard to come by.
GEM V12 or V6 stuffer would also be other options.

Re: Tillotson carb for MC-91A

As a side note, does anyone know when HR178's came out or what they were used on? I have a couple and they are alky carbs and work well.

Re: Tillotson carb for MC-91A

If you want to run a HL series (smaller, maybe for a youngster or very early kart) carb on the engine you can get a different manifold & reed cage and use that also. Over the years there is a variety of sizes available that should suit your needs. The HR series works great. Lots of HR181 & HR191 car...

NAPA carb cleaner. They make a quart size for small carbs and a 5 gallon for blocks. Works great nad washes off with water.

I have a dip tank for carbs that do a great job cleaning. Then get it plastic beaded. MAKE SURE they use clean plastic.

Re: mystery kart w/mc6

I would guess it is a home built or modified quarter midget. Front axle looks 1/4 midget. Narrow front looks quarter midget. Back end looks modified from the floating back end that quarter midget's used to use.

Re: gk800 questions

I'm sure Jeff Troy or someone will post a picture. I sold him a Go Kart 800 frame with a sissor brake on the left rear motor mount but I forget how it was attached.

Re: "dressing" welds on a 1961 Bug.....

Don't use powder coat. A frame that has a reputation to crack making future repair difficult.
I don't care for the look of ground down welds. It's hard to get into a lot of spots and do a good job. Also it will decrease the resale value.

I should have drums but no guts for them. They will probably be 11,12,13,14 tooth.
