Re: MUST SEE Video from New Castle - Dual Rear action !!!!
Jeff, thanks for the great work! It's fun to watch the likes of Terry and Lake doing their thing on REAR duals! Anybody who thinks vintage means slow needs to see this. See you at Fremont! Ted

Re: engine find
As I said before: some of the later AH-47's used these air shrouds, but the vast majority of these shrouds came on AH-51's. Both cross-scavenged, both low power. You can tell it's cross-scavenged by the fact that there are no port transfer passages on each side of the lower cylinder. 2 1/2 to 3 H.P....

Re: The Big One Details
Scott, this is strictly for fun. The kids and ladies can get track time without fear of being run over. Run as much or little or hard or gentle as you please with no pressure. Lots of the gang in the motel bar Friday night. Banquet Saturday night, with displays of vintage parts and a couple karts on...

Re: engine find
Looks like an AH-51 Power Products; could be a late AH-47. They were used on lots of low cost chainsaws. 5.1 cubic inches, cross-scavenged. Not much power there, enough for the kids to putt around with. It's a good, reliable little engine, but that's all. Ted

Re: Vertical Kart Stand Project
Hi, Ron. Sandia is diverse beyond my knowledge. Lots of energy research, both nuclear and non nuclear. I'm designing flight hardware and tools for satellites. Seems like we suddenly need lots of tools to snake into areas that shouldn't be accessable. Kirtland is busy all the time. There's a kart tra...

Re: Vertical Kart Stand Project
Hey, Ron. I'm writing this from my computer at Sandia Labs. I get to listen to the Kirtland F-18s and F-16s every day here! I live in Bosque Farms about 15 miles south of here. I have both the Van Tech and the Bug Sprint in my living room, thanks to a very hip landlord (and no wife...). I build engi...

Re: Vertical Kart Stand Project
I did a Pro/E redesign on the rear crossbar of my RLV rollaround stand, and I'm fabricating it as we speak. I made a dual adjustable roller setup using waterjet cut parts, square tubing and steel skate wheels from McMaster Carr. The roller verticals adjust in and out for various configurations of en...

Re: Mikuni Carb Help
Hi, Tom. It's a standard 34mm Mikuni. I have 5 of them. Call Dave Bonbright at 707 938-8122, or John at EC Distributing (615)446-6807 for a kit. the diaphragn kits are getting scarce. Be sure your fuel tank vent has NO restriction, and that you have a clear pulse path from the crankcase to the carb ...
