Re: ALLOWABLE TIRE SIZES
Jim, I understand your want to run 4" wheels on the karts that came with them and I would like to do the same. Unfortunately the only way we can do this is with tires that are wider than what we ran back then and they don't handle as good; this is a gross understatement. We need 4" narrow tires like...

Re: The Big One 2009 Info thread
Guys,
Ann and I will be there tomorrow late afternoon. I will bring a small cooler for use in the bar. I'll load it with a few beers and some soda plus snacks, BYOB.

Re: Margay Gearbox Bearings
Mark,
Thanks again for the help.
Tom,
I know you're having fun but gearbox repair is about the same as working on engines and most people like me don't have the equipment; fortunately I have access to someone who does.

Re: Margay Gearbox Bearings
Mark, Thanks for the information; I plan on rebuilding all three gearboxes with all new bearings and seals. I have two boxes together and they will be used for fit-up and fixtures while the third is being put together. I've found that it pays to have a spare or two when I'm learning how to do things...

Margay Gearbox Bearings
I'm in the process of restoring three Margay gearboxes. All three boxes had failed input shaft bearings; it seems that this must be a common problem. All boxes turned freely whan I purchased them but I decided to split the boxes to check them. The caged ball bearing closest to the input shaft drive ...

Re: Upholstery help!
Ted, I use CRC electronic cleaner to clean a lot of things including seats. I would test it on a small area of the seat first. I spray a little on a clean rag and then wipe the residue off. It's available from NAPA and is called "QD Electronic Cleaner". Price is around $6 to $7. I saw the frame afte...

Jeff,
Great camera and great video; the slow motion shots really give you a good look at what is going on. It was good to see Rob and I can't wait until TBO.
Thanks,
Dick Teal

Re: my latest kart
Terry & Jeff, I have some high resolution scans of some literature that I can E-Mail you if you're interested. Fox produced this basic fun kart over many years and had different names for it. The most common name is "Fox Special" and then the name was changed to "Go Kart Model 2100" after Fox got th...
