Re: NOS Mc 6

Based on ebay comps it would bring at least $600 and may go a lot higher. The highest price I have seen for a NOS Mac 6 was around $1,800.

Re: Fuel Recommendations

Hi Guys, You can run less oil as Louie says and 99% of the time it will be more than adequate. Once in a while extra oil will save you from disaster or minimize the damage if things go wrong. In motors with poor ring seal due to wear or bad fitting parts extra oil can help get a little better seal b...

Re: Fuel Recommendations

Dan, Save your money, the high octane gas is not necessary or beneficial in your motor unless you have jacked the compression way up. Run 91 octane unleaded from your local gas station with at least 8oz per gallon of pure castor and you will get excellent results. The higher octane fuels require hig...

Re: Vintage Expansion Chambers

Jeff has pretty wll summed up the basic issue.... the smaller pipes create a lot more heat and tend to damage the engines. The first pipe I ever used was the spun aluminum GEM pipe and it was a little bigger than the designs that followed in the early 70s. The extra volume was a good thing but I hav...

Re: Vintage Expansion Chambers

Rob, The "Vevy" pipes I saw were pretty effective as they had perforated rear cones that made them effectively larger in volume than they would have been if the rear cones were solid. Most of the modern day direct drive pipes are basically "Vevy" pipes and they work pretty good and many different ty...

Re: Vintage Expansion Chambers

Hi Rob, I was hoping there was some new writing on the subject that utilized modern technology to measure actual pressure and wave front behavior in the pipes. Long ago I read all of the writings many times over from the "experts" of the 60s and early 70s. You could add Blair and Bossaglia amoung ot...

Re: Vintage Expansion Chambers

Rob, Your statement about pressure within the expansion chamber caught my attention. What is your source for that remark? Have you done some testing with measuring devices that showed those results? Are you quoting something you saw written elswhere? If so, do you remember where you found that info?...
