Re: Seeing Triple
My son Joel ran triple 820's at TBO last year (2009) with 10/64 spkts and it was about right for that track. Never ran it anywhere else except for the parking lot at the Lake Co. Captains stadium in Eastlake earlier in the year, around July 4. He went back to twin 820's with cross-over pipes this ye...

Re: Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Just sitting here with my first cup of coffee thinking how very blessed we are here. Family, friends and good health. Nothing more important than that, and we do appreciate all the friends we have made in vintage karting. btw, Ted, I've decided to build the 610 and put ...

Re: NGK gas plugs
Ted, I think you"ll be very happy with the HR carbs. I ran a HR-181 on my single WB820 for the first time this year (made my own intake manifold for it) and I was surprised with how well it ran throughout the full range at TBO. I ran it on gas at Thompson a few weeks prior to TBO and was running fat...

Re: TBO is coming!
Ted, You're right! I didn't realize how early on in the project that pic was. I added an extension to the base plate to have something to step on and also added a belt guard. An old mac would be a bit lighter and easier to start. The 820 has considerable compression, even with stacking a couple of h...

Re: TBO is coming!
Ted, here are a couple of pics so others can see my starter. Only thing different now is I removed the dual carbs and put a single HL355 alky carb on it. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y180/sawco/IMG_0028.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y180/sawco/IMG_0030.jpg Looking forward to seeing everyo...

Re: Vintage Karting Klassic of BKC Web site

Re: Wanted- Thin rings for West Bend 820 Wiseco thin-ring piston
Jacob, Call or email Dave at Otto Gas Engine Works. He has many stock rings and can make just about anything. I needed some rings for a project last year. Gave him the pertinent dimensions and had the rings in my hand in less than two weeks. The rings I needed were $5.00/set plus $1.00 shipping at t...
