Terrible News - APS closes

Just got word from a very reliable source that American Power Sports has closed its doors for the last time. Stan Kovalak the owner of APS has been a personal friend for over 40 years dating back to when he worked at Wiseco and this is a very unforunate thing to happen to one of the truely nice guys...

Hmmm...the mystery continues. Have asked many different people over the years about the panel tags and no one seems to really know the whole truth about them. Would be nice to run into a production worker from back in the day and get the low down on them.

Robert, You need to track down Jeff Brown out of Michigan, he had some super nice maybe even N.O.S. Precision Wheels for sale at THE BIG ONE this year. Pretty sure the early Darts came with the tag you have. Real thin nickel or chrome plating on a brass tag.

In 65 the Grand Prix was added to the tag but the tag style you have with just i.d. numbers was still used on the Grand 'A'.

I have both a G.P. and a 'A'.
