Re: Newbie needs help with MC-5 powered Kart
That kart is likely one of many built in SoCal around 1959. There are common components that may help identify the manufacturer. Those knock offs are cool. Fortunately the Mc 5 is one model there are plenty of parts available. It is the most common block used in chainsaws with a removable head. Pist...

This is one meet i might actually be able to make next year. Except I have my blue healer that would have to be a passenger on the trip. That might make things difficult. She is my shadow, and doesnt do well if I am gone for any length of time.

Re: FS margay pro-x with mcculloch mc91
Tonykart is good as it gets. I sold a bunch of them when JM was the importer. The Formula, Espirit, Extreme and Mitox. Also sold ten of the Super Greenstar models before they were even delivered to shop. Still have one new in box, that a customer never picked up. My favorite was the Espirit. I think...

This is the original gas tank to my Xpert.
The Margay website information doesnt quite match with their ads back in the 70's.

Re: FS margay pro-x with mcculloch mc91
That kart is not a Pro-X. It is an Xpert. Made after the Pro-X, from 79 to around 81, right before the Bandito and Expert 2 came out. Everything is mostly original except the nerf bars, and added bars to hold that Margay style nose. Margay even had a body much like this for it frame too. The lighter...

Re: Power Products Engine Colors
I am seeing a lot of AH-81's people are running. But not too many of the AH-82's. One of my 82's is red the others are not painted. So no real help there. I see some metallic blue 58's but may be from specific branded uses. My 61's are also unpainted.

Re: Need help identifying kart!!!!!
That is a Margay Expert, not a Pro-X. The Expert went to 1 1/4" axle, unlike the Pro-X and Panther X before. This kart was in production from 1979 thru 1981. Margay did build some after the Bandito and Expert II came out. It is an earlier model with short frame rails in rear. Rear frame rails are al...

Re: D-44/55 Mac saws
Thanks for checking your surplus parts. I needed a set of rings and found them a couple weeks ago. Next is digging out everything and seeing what else is missing. I forgot the D44/55 had a smaller rod journal. Never had a reason to tear one down, except to remove the head and shrouds. But this saw i...

Re: D-44/55 Mac saws
Getting rid of the stock intake and reeds will make a huge difference on the saw. The Mc49MC for its original use came with a BDC 22 carb and ran pretty well. But the HR Tillotson I had in mind only has a 1" venturi. So it may be worth a try. if I work out a decent reed setup, should work fairly wel...
