Man, does that look like fun! Sure would like to see that beast properly tuned running the quarter! Thanks. Ted

David, you're right. I've seen some ham-handed tactics used! Take care. TJ

Re: Anyone here want to help me build an engine (Or two)?
David, I agree completely with the heat/cold method of getting the bearings on and off the crank, but it's almost never required to get the bearings in and out of the block or crankcase cover. Rebuilders I know just push them together. Most bearings will come off the crank with a small puller, and s...

Re: Bug kart ID
Nice Wasp, Danno! By the way, is the picture reversed? You'd better be darn coordinated to drive that one. We'd stopped being dealers before the wide seat came out. Hell, Tom, I completely forgot about the Lightning! Oh, well, I'll be 65 in 9 days... :? I'm lucky to remember what I had for breakfast...

Re: Anyone here want to help me build an engine (Or two)?
John, I've built and disassembled literally hundreds of Macs over the past 50 years, and almost none have ever required heat to take them apart. I've never taken an Mc15 apart, but most of the small Mac saws have a needle PTO side bearing, and the crank just slips out. Usually the point plate side b...

Re: Bug kart ID
Thanks, Dan! Charlie and I sure missed you this year. That's one of the best things about TBO - meeting new friends and greeting old friends! Terry's Bug sure stumps me! I remember a few later Cool Carts with the square seat, but no Wasps of that vintage. Oh, well, that was Bug all over. You never k...

Re: Bug kart ID
Wow, Terry! Not sure. It's a Bug product all right, and probably a '61 or '62, as it has the mechanical disc brake mount and a swing mount. Stingers had dual rail frames, Cool Carts had double loop rear frame hoops and narrow steering hoop, Cad Cart had the wide steering hoop. Looks like a Wasp, but...

Re: TBO
I agree with Jim. Charlie and I had our teething problems with the new karts, but there's nothing that won't easily be fixed. The Van Tech ran well, though I didn't have the tires up to pressure, and Bob Lapke almost came to grief because of it! I thank Bob for getting a few decent laps on th...

Re: The Big One 2009 Info thread
Hi, Brian. I hope Dottie's mom is well. I just got back from Fremont last night; it was a GREAT event, and I'm sorry we missed seeing you all. Hank got the parts, and hopefully I will get time to complete Mr. Ramos soon. Take care. Ted

Re: The Big One 2009 Info thread
Thanks, Big Buddy! I will take care. Charlie will load tomorrow, and will head toward Illinois Thursday. Can't wait to see you all! I told Charlie about the liquor license. Good thing the convenience store is right there! TJ
