Re: Poulan S-200 Kart Engine ?

Hi, Ed. supposedly a high revving engine, according to an early Karting Handbook multiple engine test. Strong as an ox, and I'd say VERY desirable as a vintage engine. I once saw an earlier S-100 run, and it wasn't as fast as a Mac, but faster than a 580 or a K-82 Homelite. Email me at nosnhojkart@y...

Re: THE BIG ONE 2009...The Legend Continues.

Rob 'N' Bob, Charlie and I will be there with carb problems fixed, 2 "new" karts, and new power on the Van Tech! I'm so glad that your efforts will allow us to share this very nice facility with all the other fantastic people. Thank you once again! Ted

Re: The Fantastic '4'

Hi, Jeff. They're not really very similar. The KL100 had the cylinder twisted on the case like the 82 and 92, whereas the 1000 series is more like a Mac with the port transfer passages in line with the rod throw. The engine lays flat on the saw like a Mac does. They have 2 rectangular exhaust ports ...

Re: The Fantastic '4'

Hi, Jeff. The 1000 - 1020 - 1050 series of Homelites seem to go great in vintage saw competition, so they/re getting harder to find. A tree had fallen on this one, so I had to find a crankcase. Hank Rotroff had a C-5 case, and kindly sent it to me. The C-5 has a shorter stroke, so I spent a lot of t...

Re: The 'BIG' Thanks

To Rob and Bob, THANK you so very much for making The '08 Big One the social event of the season! Charlie and I had a great time running the semi-functional karts and re-meeting all the fine participants. We especially enjoyed pitting next to Al Klusman and Jack Canady for the second year (with many...

Re: THE BIG ONE 2008 !

The days are getting shorter and the big weekend approaches... I have about 3 hours of work to get the machines ready, and I'm getting antsy to see all the good people once again. Charlie has Dad's old Scorpion about ready, and it hasn't seen the track since the early sixties! I have the VT all but ...
