Re: vintage quarter midget help.

Hi Tom, For some reason i can't get your pictures to open, but yes i do remember one Kurtis Kraft midget, here in Santa Rosa. The car that i remember said Santa Rosa Plating on the sides of the body, and everything that unbolted from the chassis, was chrome. If you have this car, i can find out who ...

Re: vintage quarter midget help.

Chris, I raced quarter midgets as a kid from 1958 to 62, my Father was a dealer for RaceCraft quarter midgets, Continental engines, and Solt speed equipment. I can't tell you what brand of midget you have, but can say its from the late 60's to late 70's, because of the roll cage, and the brand of wh...

The Mc-9 kart engine came stock with the five-degree flywheel. Actually all three Mac kart engines for 1964, the 9-45-75 came with five-degree wheels....Ed

Re: Early Mac Third Port Blocks ?

Ted, I had a Mc-7 that was modified just like this, third port filled, with all Van-Tech speed equipment. This engine had the twin carb stuffer mount, and a Van-Tech slopper manifold on top. This was a pretty fast engine for a 12 yearold kid, on the school parking lot. My Father quickly replaced it ...

Early Mac Third Port Blocks ?

This is a subject that i have never really asked anyone, but have always wondered why it was changed. What was the reason behind McCulloch doing away with using the third port and changing the castings on the 91 and later blocks. Was it because they went to the big 91-101 carb, or was it something e...

Re: original mac dealer paperwork value??

Dave, McCulloch did have Microfinch, for their saw engines, along with the kart motors. I have a factory McCulloch microfinch, for the Mc-49,91,92,93, and 101 engines. I do not have the machine to look at these anymore, and if you can use them i will give the kart film to you. McCulloch did also hav...

Re: Caretta for sale

The best places i have found to find vintage karts and engines, is at automotive swapmeets, not ebay. The Caretta i have came from an Early Ford swapmeet in Petaluma Calif, about six years ago. I bought it from the son of the original owner. I payed $500.00 for this kart, and after getting it home, ...

Re: Rupp kart differences in 1963/64?

Dean, The grand prix that i brought to Davis, i have owned for six years. In that time this is the info that i have found out about this model. The kart i have still has its original ID plate, and the number is 421, and i would think that this is a very early 63 model. It is a 4130 chrome molly fram...
