Both of the big ones have removable heads.
If I was braver, I'd think about converting one to loop scavenging, or maybe just 5 porting it.

Re: Bit of a twist to it ....
Yep, Tom.
I have never talked to him.
I think he has the real Go Kart version - not a boat engine - Clinton model 502
I have one of those, but it is not modified.
Very similar to the boat engine. Picture below.

Re: Bit of a twist to it ....
Thanks for the article Bob! Most of my Clinton buddies were absent from TBO this year, so I couldn't see how this engine compared. Like they say, there is no replacement for displacement! Re: Atention Bug fans - did early bugs have scrub brakes?
Ted,
Yeah, I wish we still had those karts. How about those moon hubcaps!
We sold those bugs and kept a 59 Wasp - took it to Germany when dad was assigned there.
Raced the wasp over there and brought it back. It lives in Ohio now with my great nephew Jack.

It is the one behind me in this picture with a Power Products engine. The one I'm sitting on is probably a Custom Bug with DUAL 'barely brakes'! Me on the old bu...
