Re: More Mc5/6/49 stuff

Terry, What a great mod for the 2 port saw blocks, just like an Mc91. I always have drilled out the center port and squared them all....Duhhhh I never thought of doing what you and your dad did but I will now!! I just realized how brain slow I am. My dads buddy had mentioned about seeing the two ov...

Need Mac carb information Please read

I would like to know if the flatback and BDC carb diaphram kits are currently being manufactured? I am not interested about someone having them ratholed in their garage, selling NOS on ebay, but new production. If there is not a current source, I want to get them manufactured. If you are interested ...

Re: Mc5/Mc49 crank

Isnt this how it all started 50 years ago? When you got beat, then what could be done to go faster? One thing lead to another and there is IKF setting classes, rules, restrictions, engine specifications, homologation, blah, blah, blah. Would this be the result from too much of a competitive nature? ...

Re: Mac flatbacks on chainsaws

The throttle bores are .813" instead of .940". My objective(if its worth any gains) is to bore at least the venturi to 3/4" and match kart models. Drill passages to meter fuel. It would remove the bomb sight, but not important if carb responds like the kart model was known for. The carbs seem to wor...

Re: Mc5/Mc49 crank

From a 1 3/8" strke to over 1 5/8 is going to take more material than a Mc 49 has to offer. Unless you use a quick time piston and that is wont leave much left. Your best bet is a 1 1/2 stroke with some material removed and a very tight squish. Or use a Mc 2 or chainsaw block that looks like a 49. B...

Mac flatbacks on chainsaws

On a lot of the saw motors that use flatbacks carbs, some of the newer models have a bombsight over the high speed pickoff. Anybody putting these to use? I have a box full of them. I noticed the venturi is smaller than on kart models. Thats easy enough to fix if it nets any performance gains. These ...

Re: Mc Decals

Are there any Honda Mini Trail stickers available? I noticed you did have a lot of the 3 wheeler stuff done. I need the large black one that fit on both sides of gas tank. Oh yea, to keep this on topic, McCulloch.

Re: More Mc5/6/49 stuff

As fas as the clutches are concerned I happen to have a small universal grinder. Actually used to be a piston grinder, but converted over for general use. I ended up grinding the 5/8" step down to 9/16". Then retain the original chainsaw clutch guts with 7/16 left hand thread hub and use either a re...

More Mc5/6/49 stuff

For those in need of cranks for a Mc5/6/49, there are a ton of stepcrank chainsaws that are perfect donors. The majority of the standard series saws with kart based motors are 80 cc's with 1 3/8 stroke. So its destroking a Mc6. But there are a few saws with the 1 1/2" stroke that should work. The ea...
