Re: Flatback carb conversion

Thats a lot of interesting background information. I say that sincerely: I enjoy learning about the evolution of the technologies we usually take for granted, and learning from the experience of others. Thank you all for contributing to the conversation! With reference to my stock MC90: If I wanted ...

Re: Flatback carb conversion

Interesting observation, Rob. Makes me wonder... If the pop off is, in fact, tailored towards direct drive, how relevant are the alky orifice specs with reference to the high stall speeds one might see with a tightly sprung Jim Donovan MaxTorque or an oil clutch? Did the evolution from direct drive ...

Re: Flatback carb conversion

Thanks, Paul. As you know, I love collecting this kind of data.

Now.... I still wonder if that Karting News article or some other documentation of the process is out there?

Maybe he would share some knowledge? I've emailed with him before: He supplied me with my Margay clutch drum. It can't hurt to ...

I have a small flatback that I need to... uh... ver...

All,

Is camping on-site allowed? More importantly, is it recommended?

Thanks,

Kurt

Re: All New Avon Historics Kart & Minibike Event-Revised

Kurt here. I want to jump in and say that the event was awesome. Scott, Sam, and the track staff did an awesome job. It was a pleasure to meet folks like Scott, Sam, & Bob, as well as so many others. The atmosphere was relaxing, and there was ample time to test, tune, and practice. Occasionally, the...

Re: Anybody putting together new motors or karts for this ye

Almost ready. The gearbox-to-engine mount is held on by barely a thread or two of engagement on the gearbox side, because I've had to add spacers to create clearance for the clutch assembly. I've commisioned a fellow karter to machine some sleeve nuts that will combine the functions of the nuts and ...
