Re: Bug sprint

Hmmmm, a brand new perfect repop from K&P is $2,500, real nice 101s on ebay or the boards are $600 to $800... pipe and clutch another $100 to $200. Frame must be filled with blow or smack to warrant the price  Saw one just about identical but cleaner sold at Adams last year for $1000 Steve O'Hara

Re: Need Carb and intake info

Tom, There are countless options readily available in the way of intake manifolds, reeds and carbs on ebay all the time. To give good suggestions on what to look for it would help to know what you plan to use the engine for? If it is to be used on a vintage kart and you plan to race it with the orga...

Re: What have I got here

Scott, Listen to Bob... a McCulloch motor that has been sitting for 20 years has about a 90% chance of having the wrist pin bearings frozen up. Starting and running the engine with the bearings frozen up will very quickly result in catastrophic failure that will destroy the piston and the bore leavi...

Re: Chaparral Roller Value?

I don't remember the Chaparral having those front axle braces.... are they add-ons? If the frame is not screwed up in some way then the price is not out of line for a kart with four good turbine wheels, two good Uni mounts, correct pedals, tie rods etc. Looks to me like the steering shaft was shorte...

Re: Another McCulloch Odity

Scott, Pretty cool, thanks for sharing the picture of the odd block. I have two 49Es, one NOS and both are completely different shapes compared to the two blocks in your pictures. Both of mine have the "normal" shape to the fins on the head rather than the big rounded off shape on your blocks. Both ...

Re: best two cycle oil for running 580 westbend

Rob, Maybe a better question is... if I can run run 2.38 times as much oil through my engine when running alky without fouling plugs or other problems why not double the amount of oil in the gas? All of the good two cycle tuners know they run faster and last longer with more oil whether you are runn...

Re: best two cycle oil for running 580 westbend

castor oil is the best, I use Burris at 16 to 1 for most applications but sometimes I'll increase the oil to 12to1.

Re: Wanted a +0.005 or +0.010 Full skirt Piston for Mc9

Bob, You may want to reconsider and stay with the 91 piston as there are certain benefits with respect to reliability over the original full skirt piston. To use the original stock intake on a stock Mc9 block with a 91 piston all you need to do is make a gasket that blocks off the third port passage...

Re: Dart A-Bone steering

Here's my analysis for what it's worth..... I think the main frame rails between the seat and the front axle have been lengthened and when they reinstalled the front axle they made two mistakes. One is as Terry pointed out, the bumper is angled up a little and the other is that they didn't lay the a...
