Tom, I may have a Bill Matthews ad that shows them somewhere in my pile of magazines. I didn't do the copies and I probably bought a few from the same guy. A400 uses bronze bushing bearings everywhere.
The A490 has a ball bearing on the PTO side of the crank. A few special models could have a needle bearing on the flywheel side.
Most Clinton chainsaws have ball bearings on the PTO, needles on the flywheel side and needles on the big end of the rod.

245-110-500 is the best rod. Be careful, because it replaced the 2422, some shops would just renumber the 2422 box. Check this picture. One is the 245-110-500 on ebay and one is a 2422.
