Re: Replacement carburetter & reed cage experiments?
John, as far as the reed goes, this is vintage, so why bother, we're not racing? You can buy the modern reed cage for the 820 from U.S. Motor Power, or maybe from Dave Bonbright. You'd need to build your own for a Mac. If you're talking about a modern slide carb, again, why bother, as it wouldn't be...

Re: Vertical Kart Stand Project
Very nice, Jeff! With 3 karts in a very small living room, it would be worth building. My problem is not having woodworking tools. (no room). Maybe I will transfer the design into square tubing and do a Pro/E rendition! Thanks. Ted

Charlie and I will be there, ready to have fun and meet new friends, as well as enjoying the ones we've made the last 2 TBO's! Now all I have to do is figure out how to get everything to the track! Ted

If you have Google Earth or Google Maps, look to the Southwest part of Fremont and find the airport (east-west runway). Look just north of the eastern 1/3 of the runway. There she is! Ted

IF , and I emphasize if, this is the same rig run at B'Ville in the very early days, It wasn't Mac powered back then. My Pop and I both wondered why Power Products rather than Macs. Of course, that was nearly 50 years ago - lots of changes may have occurred to the machine since then! I'd like to ha...

Some of the auto dealers in my home town of Melbourne, Florida, had Q.M.'s built in the early fifties and had a track built out by the airport. They had a league that lasted a few years. I got to drive one a couple of times in about '53, but our family lived too far out of town for me to be able to ...

Re: McCulloch at Bonneville??
That looks a lot like the twin PP-81 powered streamliner that ran maybe in '60. Of course, I can't be sure it's the same kart. It was supposed to have some sort of converted bike engine, maybe an early Standun??, but it didn't work out well. There were pics in the kart mags as well as the rodding ma...
