Weather floating the disc or not, grind down the keyway a bit so it will slide under the bearing some then make sure to have the keyway stick out past the rotor about 1" and put a shaft collar over the keyway to prevent it from moving or make the keyway long enough to go all the way out to the axle ...

Re: Bug Kart Rebuild

Get your caliper bolted on the frame, that will tell you where the disc needs to be on the axle.

Re: Bug Kart Rebuild

Is that the original brake caliper ? If so it should just bolt up directly on to the side of the chassis. Install the axle and put the rotor on then slip the caliper over the rotor and the caliper mounting points should line up with the holes on the chassis,

Re: Worth a look.

Dominic,

Thanks also goes to you for helping to save the history and the memories of American karting. You have hung around here a long time and your participation even on the net has helped to keep the early days of karting in the spotlight.

Re: Worth a look.

If your going to use that old saying "he who dies with the most toys wins" this fellow is podium material.

Re: Blue print

Its sad that the quest for 'speed' has taken this simple bare bones affordable machine that was originally built for 'fun' and turned it into a modern day plastic shod, overweight, complex, expensive transgender contraption that doesn't know if it wants to be a kart or a car. This has happened in al...
