Re: Clinton A400 Issues

Like to thank everyone for this thread, being new to Clinton engines this thread is very interesting.

On the ignition modules can anyone list who makes them, whats the part number, and who sells them ?

Is there a right hand and left hand module ?

Re: Clinton A400 Issues

Tim,

Before you go ripping into your recoil, remove it from the motor and spray same penetrating oil around the bushing in the center. Usually when they won't retract short of a broken spring a dry or dirty bushing is the culprit.

Colossal Clinton

Every year at THE BIG ONE someone always comes along and asks "hey you want to take my kart out" ? This year I was asked that very question by Terry Sullivan and I jumped at the chance because running one of Terry's Clinton powered rigs with the rest of the Clinton Clan is always a ball. What Terry ...

Re: Go Kart 400 Replica

Tim, Replica's and even home builds are usually welcome everywhere as long as they are reminiscent of actual karts that were or could possibly have been built and run in the past. Creative performance enhancing modifications to original designs are frowned on however. Can't speak for others but we a...

Re: REAR Guidelines and TBO Info

Tim,

All steering related components, brake system and throttle fasteners are a must then use common sense and go from there.

Good eye Russ. Never realized how close the Dragster was to the Norseman.

Re: Yazoo dragster

Mark, That kart is a historic part of karting however its more of a 'fun' type of kart then a racer. It would be cool to have in your shop as a conversation piece but that is about as far as it goes. Performance would be on the shallow end. As for value, guess its up to you and how bad do you want i...

Re: How Much Power Does This Engine Make?

Tim,

Have been running a sleeve on my personal 580 to increase the crank diameter from 9/16" to 5/8" and have experienced no issues what so ever.

Re: How Much Power Does This Engine Make?

Tim,

The WB-580 is a great little mill.

If your looking for some quick and easy bolt on performance upgrades from what you have, get a exhaust header to open up the exhaust flow and a different intake manifold with either a pyramid reed cage or the larger 4 petal 'V' style West Bend cage.
