Re: 1959 Rupp

Axle was not hardened and with some reaming we slide the new one in. We also slid it onto a new piece of frame pipe to replace the piece cut out between the motor mounts. Hope to weld the frame today and tap the threads on the axle .

Re: 1959 Rupp

Thanks for the info. I did not want to beat on it without knowing if it was pinned, possibly under the U bracket.

Thanks again Bob

1959 Rupp

Does anyone know how to remove the dead axel from the frame of a 59 Rupp kart . Is it full length and maybe pinned somewhere or should it just drive out.

Thanks Bob

McCulloch seat

Do McCulloch seats have pleats in the seat back and bottom? Also does anyone have a good source for a black seat of good quality? Thanks

Re: Caretta?

My magazine is Rod and Custom of April 1960. We also have the correct steering wheel and pedals that match this photo. So I think it is right.

Re: Caretta?

I have found that my kart is likely a Lin Yello Jacket made in Topeka Ind.

Caretta?

I am trying to get a hold of Bob. I bought a go kart frame at the Portland motor bike show and was hoping you would help me identify it. Bob if you are out there, you were there when I purchased it and you thought it was a Caretta. Please look at the photos I took and post yours too. Thank you.
