It looks like you are using a nut with a re-useable cotter key. I would recommend castle nuts & regular cotter keys. If the nut comes loose it will wear the inside of the wheel & keyway. John's been around for a long time. Usually brought a grill & cooked for us on fun days. Besides his fabrication skills he could also machine parts as he owned a mold shop. RIP John.
