John, I have one of the later engines, and found an old article from '61, will have to dig it out. If memory is correct, these used the shorter 610 wrist pin. Dave does a perfect job on the rear ports.

Thanks Louie, All I had were the bases, and could not figure out what the top and cage configuration was. That makes sense.

Reed 453 manifold

Have two Reed 453 manifolds for the 820, minus the cages and carb mount. These have an opening that does not seem to fit any cage that I am familiar with, a slot about 1.0X1.75". Look like they might work well if I could find a cage. Does anyone have a complete one that could give me some direction....

There are loads of HL232's around, used on the early US820 west Bends, that should work perfetly and have the early style body. The smaller bore than the Rotary vale 0.900" carbs would be great for early engines. I have a pile if you want one. Dave

FYI, if gas welding is used, mild steel rods are corresct for 4130 tubing, thousands of aircract cannot be wrong. The mild steel is much less resistant to stress cracking than chrome moly rods, an imporytant factor in kart frames.

Jay, Metal shoe wet clutches like the Burco use 90wt. gear oils, organic or asbestos lined ones use a very light oil like ATF. Redline makes a high temperature version available from your local dealer or Summit racing. Works great in tow vehicles too. Dave
