Re: Is this what this is about?

I am writing this with huge reservations. I know I'll regret it, but I can't help myself. Please try to understand that I'm not trying to piss anyone off with this. I understand Carl and Andy. They are extremely competitive and are willing to do whatever it takes to win anything they are involved in...

Re: Arctic Cat Screamer mini bike Restored

Hey Kevin, I never saw them race, but they raced minis in my area. They raced on a motocross type of track. I think it was mostly to give racers' kids something to do, and fill in spaces between the big races. This is the second Screamer I have owned, out of three, and I bought all of them locally. ...

Arctic Cat Screamer mini bike Restored

Selling my over restored Screamer. Has more NOS parts than restored parts. I have well over $4000 into it, believe it or not. Has these NOS parts: Fuel tank, gas cap, petcock, seat, West Bend 820 motor (hard to find the correct left hand rotation NOS motor), drive and driven clutches (Hard to find t...

King Dave has a habit of picking up any old hitch hiker with a vintage kart, especially if they are into vintage race sleds too.

Re: Gear drive starter motor

I have often wondered if a right angle 1/2" drill motor would work. They spin both ways. They spin about 750 rpm's, which isn't a lot, but probably enough to pop off a good running motor. They also have tons of torque and will hold a socket drive. The downside is that they take a lot of amps and you...

Re: Are you a scarecy cat ??

But there is a VERY quick way down if there is a lightning strike. Pretty amazing that the guy is just standing on top without holding onto anything. I'd be hanging on like a cat, even if I had the safety rope.

Re: First Boost Ports ?

One last thing.... The technology of raising the ports, in my opinion, is the reason that many companies made different style stuffers. The tighter the tolerance to the crank, the more horsepower you get. Just a guess, but makes sense.

Re: First Boost Ports ?

One thing that I thought was interesting was that hydro racers figured out that if you made the looper ports around the crankshaft a little wider and shallower, it produced more horses. Kinda strange to me that making the ports smaller would make more horsepower. I have two mod outboards that have h...

Re: First Boost Ports ?

About four years ago, I sold a Konig B class hydro motor. It was date coded 1957. I did a little research on it and found out that in 1957 Dieter Konig brought 20 of his motors to the US to race and smoked the Quincy's so bad, that it was embarrassing. This started a technology and R+D war between t...
