Ok.
At least now I know I am not crazy (or any more crazy than I already was).
Guess I'll have to try the other method.
Ciao!

KART IDENTIFICATION
Still trying to identify these karts after all these years....
Probably 1960 due to Palmini hydraulic brake. Square tub. Underslung seat.
(attachment quota has been reached?)

820 NOT PUMPING GAS
Ok guys, I need some help. I've got a few 820's available to put on my yellow Lotz '64 SAE repro so I can make it to Adams. So far two of them, an older original West Bend and a newer US Motors, have good spark, good or great compression, will hold 10 psi crankcase pressure and will fire if I prime ...

Re: ALLOWABLE TIRE SIZES
Dick, Thanks for the insight. I'm just now realizing that the tires that came with my Dan-Lotz-built '64 SAE repro kart are DURO (Vintage Speed) on the back and Cheng Shin up front - as I ran at Adams in January. I also didn't realize that Vintage Speed and DURO are synonymous (at least that's what ...

Re: ALLOWABLE TIRE SIZES
I was hoping that my inquiries about what type and size of tires are OK for vintage events would garner the information I was looking for. What I didn't hope for was that it would end up riling up my good friend Ron Cubel. My apologies, Ron, if I have elevated your blood pressure. As a "bystander", ...

Re: ALLOWABLE TIRE SIZES
Rob, To a certain extent I am glad I am peeling scabs off of old wounds. Though I had a mini bike with a V-700 back in '61 and my buddy was building some fairly nice home-built karts (one with a 5 Port V 700 - scared me half to death - no brakes to speak of) I didn't get into kart racing until 11 ye...

Re: ALLOWABLE TIRE SIZES
Nils, So it sounds like it would be OK at REAR event to run old GY Bluestreak (I have a couple of sets), but not the replica Vintage Speed tires? That sounds goofy. Sounds like I better have a set of "oldies but goodies" on hand if I show up for an event that I haven't run in before. I still would l...
