Re: Aluminum Rivets for Mc10 Nameplates

Scott, Thanks for the spec on an original rivet hole size. I only had pictures of original motors (pic attached) and found something with the best looking head no matter what size shank. I'm not a purist either, but looking back at all my decimal measurements shows I do get "Detail-itis" Just ...

Re: Aluminum Rivets for Mc10 Nameplates

I'm testing-out these 1/16" tag rivets which have the right look and size as original, but I think a true rivet which is peened-on real tight would work out better under vibration. I'd hate to lose one of these nice Terry Sullivan name plates on the track. Tom Smith is looking into a source for 1/16...

Re: McCulloch Yellow Paint Party

My intent posting this paint work was to show some options when it comes to a yellow we could use that I've never seen posted in the forum before. I was also excited to share the results :D Like Tom Smith pointed out, McCulloch yellow had variations from the 50's to the 70's. I tried to share these ...

McCulloch Yellow Paint Party

Just used one of the yellowest of yellow paints according to those in the hotrodding arena. It's called Frueauf Yellow Ditzler/PPG 80515 which I had formulated in acrylic Urethane. There are some other yellows in the same catagory such as Viper and Corvette yellow. Rustoleum Sunburst yellow is a clo...

Re: chassis repair advice needed

Phil I'm currently replacing a welded-in pan on a Fireball Futura. I wish I could use silicon to fix the problems with my floorpan  I do like the idea of throwing glue at rivit remains inside frame tubes. I ussually drill a hole, drained out the pieces then welded up the hole again. I have link...

Re: 91MC motor identification

Steve, Good example of why trying to ID a motor by it's fan shroud color or chrome is never the Absoulute way to identify a motor. The McCulloch Engine website is divided in Primary and Secondary features. The Primary features is what you focused on. The secondary features are just like you said; Co...
